Our family tradition is to celebrate Christmas Eve in Wisconsin with family and attending an annual Christmas Eve Candle Light Service, followed by gift opening. There's always LOTS of excitement in the air, as the grandkid's have great anticipation, and this year would be no different.
Ashley had perfect timing as she called during our gift opening time; and we each (all 15 of use.....grandparents, great grandpa, uncles, aunts, and cousins) were able to take a few brief minutes to wish Ashley Merry Christmas. (Her call came in around 7:45pm Christmas Eve, which was 8:45am Christmas Day her time)
Ashley was also very thoughtful and planned ahead wonderfully this year as she shipped (before she left Maui for Thailand) Christmas gifts for her 8 cousins to open this year, and they all enjoyed the wonderful surprises.
We only had a short time to talk, and Ashley shared how her team spent Christmas Eve receiving Stockings from her Outreach leader, as well as some much needed American food!! Christmas morning her team was preparing to gather for a *SURPRISE*...and Ashley wasn't sure what that was.
Of course, we all knew what her surprise would be, a shoe box size carepackage to them filled with gift cards, letters, and small gifts for Ashley. By now, I'm sure she's opened her gifts....and is SO glad that we were able to send gifts to her, her first Christmas away from home.
Ash~ we know that sometime this week, you'll find a few minutes of time to sneak away and check out your blog.....so we want to say just how much we MISSED you this Christmas!!! Know that although you were thousands of miles from home, you were in our hearts...our thoughts...and prayers......
Both Grandpa & Grandma, and Dad & Mom will be leaving up the Christmas trees, with your gift beneath until you are home!!!
We also thought Ash...that you'd enjoy seeing the family pictures taken Christmas Eve. Enjoy the pictures......and know how much we LOVE you....and miss YOU!!!!
