What This World Needs

Ashley is in Bangkok for some r&r before she heads to Myanmar on Saturday for two weeks. While in Myanmar, we will NOT have contact with Ashley as there are strict rules/laws with communicating to the outside world. Please continue to keep Ashley and her team in your thoughts and prayers during this portion of their outreach.

For the past month Ashley’s team has been ministering in a local church in a small village teaching the children English, and leading a form of Sunday school and Children’s church ministry. God has been faithful in using the team to reach out to a lost and hurting people of Thailand.

As we listened to Ashley share her heart I began to ponder this question:

What does this world need?
Some think we need more government.

Some think we need less.

Some think we need more rules.

Some think we need more freedom.

Some think it’s a matter of making more money, because isn’t that where it’s at?

Or perhaps, if we could JUST get that bigger house, that better car, those new clothes, the *keeping up with the Jone’s* why then…we’d find happiness.

Although often our society buys into these lies, (and yes, sometimes in the church we fall into this trap too) we know that this isn’t where it’s at.

Casting Crown has a song called: What This World Needs. As you read these lyrics, ask yourself, what does this world really need?


What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind

Ashley is seeing first hand what this world needs. Thousands of people are dying everyday in Thailand, without the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Some are dying physically, while others are simply dying from the lifestyle they are forced to live. Yet Ashley and her team are there….sharing the gospel of Christ to a world that is STARVING for the Jesus we have.

Yet, here we are, in America….living in a world of *gray*…not wanting right or wrong, black or white…..because we DON’T want to offend. We are so careful and so cautious so that our gospel doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable.

I’m SO thankful that my Jesus was willing to pay the price…so that we could have freedom through salvation. I’m thankful for his conviction….that DOES offend…and as he offends me, he draws me closer to him.

The American church needs to wake up, and rise up! God’s called us to be a Light House…that shines his light…to a lost and dying world. Calling people out of their darkness!!!

“Christians, either change your conduct, or change your name.”

As Ashley’s witnessed and seen in Thailand…..we believe that God is calling his church…the real church…to stand up….and either change their conduct…..or change there name!

It’s time to stop playing games, as souls…by the handful, are slipping into eternity without Christ!!

As we’ve listened to Ashley share her heart, it’s clear that it would do a world of good if each Christian in America…served on the Mission field…to really understand…just how Blessed we are in America. I'm certain we'd view our life, and our Jesus through different eyes.
